Outcome 2 (Integrating Ideas)
Be able to integrate their ideas with others using summary, paraphrase, quotation, analysis, and synthesis of relevant sources.
In my essays, I always made sure to make my quotes look nice and proper. As I would try my best to make them look so factual and proper I didn’t pay enough attention to explaining them. Another big problem I had during quote integration was I would just smack down a quote without much personal explanation or context so it wouldn’t have much flow. The way we integrate quotes in class allows me to express how I personally feel about something and how it pushes or pushes against the view of a source that I put in. Integrating quotes the way we do in class has made it easier for me to get out more words and give my essays more flow.

Same paragraph with quote and explanation added in
At first, in this paragraph I was just going to leave this paragraph the way it was, but after learning about quote integration and hearing some feedback from peer review I added in another quote and some more bulk. Before adding anything I had a sentence at the end of the paragraph that kind of left people wondering what I meant. So to further explain and back up my claim I added in an explanation from “The Hawk” and then added in a quote as well. This not only adds more to my essay, but also helps the reader understand my points.
