Outcome 5 (Document Work MLA)

Document their work using appropriate conventions (MLA)

MLA format is important because it allows me to use outside sources that aren’t mine to help with my essay. It allows me to add in more bulk to my essays by using a source and digging deeper into them in the essay. It always validates my points and opinions as proof or evidence.

As seen in the screenshot, I highlighted the page numbers to show that whenever I get to copy a quote from a source I must use their page number to show that I got the fact/saying from someone else. Doing this allows me to use other peoples work to help support my own without a problem.

The works cited page allows me to sum up all of the sources I used throughout my essay and it always adds an extra layer of security and proof that I’m not plagiarizing other sources. 

Outcome 6 (Sentence-Level Error) 

Control sentence-level error (grammar, punctuation, spelling)

Personally, I feel that I have greatly improved my sentence level formatting over the first semester. During highschool I never really thought about using “I” and talking about my own thoughts so much because I was always taught to be so proper, but now in Brods class it allows me to use an active voice.

As you can see, after the quote I put a transition sentence and then give my opinions and thoughts on it. Being able to use my active voice, and use a transition sentence allows me to further explain my thoughts which adds detail and bulk to my essay. Doing this allows the reader to understand what I mean and gives setups for barclays as well.
