Outcome 4 (Peer Review)
Be able to critique their own and others’ work by emphasizing global revision early in the writing process and local revision later in the process.
Peer review allowed me to get feedback from multiple other people, but it was the 1 on 1 peer review interactions during class that really helped with my writing process. Some people may think it’s awkward or maybe uncomfortable to hear feedback from someone one on one or maybe you don’t want to hurt someone’s feelings. I feel that peer review is an amazing way to help with your writing because it allows you to be honest with one another and also give great compliments haha.
End Comment Jemima Left for me on my Essay #3
Out of the 3 end comments I’ve gotten on my essays, Jemiams was my favorite and most useful. She started off by explaining what my essay was about even if she had no context before reading. She listened to some things I did well such as adding in sources and connection them to other ones. She also ended off with a couple things I could add or improve on. One of them being adding in more personal experience to give my essay more personality.

After Jemima’s comments and advice, I was able to read through my essay again and look for areas where I could specifically add in personal experiences. This screenshot shows an example of how I took Jemima’s end comment into action. At first I only gave a sentence or two explaining the quote a little bit. After revision, I added in a good chunk of words where I gave an example from my personal life. Because of this, I was able to give more personality to my essay and add more bulk to it as a whole.

My comment I wrote Jemima was on her Essay #3 draft. I started off my comment by talking about how I enjoyed it and let her know that I could clearly tell her position on the topic we were writing about. I let her know what her strengths were such as bringing in her personal experiences and how it’s relatable. I ended the comment by letting her know some stuff I would add/change as well. The big thing I suggested to her was making sure to introduce the source authors earlier on so the reader would have a better understanding of who they are and why they should listen to them.
